Efren Guzman’s family farm is located in Nariño, between the bustling coffee towns of La Union to the north and Buesaco to the south. The extreme coffee growing elevation is conducive to bright fruit flavors. Coffee growing is a family tradition in the area and farms are often handed down to future generations. Community members are hired during the harvest season and when coffee doesn’t require immediate attention, food is grown for the community.
Efren has been able to improve construction of his home and processing area. Once harvested, coffee cherry is processed for defects, depulped and dried on-site before being transported to the nearest dry mill. Red Fox has worked in this region since 2018 and brings their mobile cupping lab to the region to cup samples and make buying decisions. We love this juicy, full-bodied coffee, and hope you do too!
