BULESA KEBELE COMMUNITY
The Bulesa Kebele community is located in the newly founded Sidama Region approximately 200 miles from the Capital, Addis Ababa. Producers farm coffee on a 1-2 hectare lot, on average, and utilize “garden coffee,” meaning coffee is grown under canopies of large legume shade trees. The coffee plant, together with fruit trees and Enset (a staple food of the community), form a complex agroforestry system where material cycle maintains farm nutrient supply. About 397 producers are exclusively delivering their red cherry to Red Fox, who pay well over commodity price for their exceptional coffee. The red cherry is then processed at a local processing unit in Bulesa Kebele. This is a delicate coffee that transparently showcases its flavors. Enjoy!
