KAMWANGI SMALLHOLDER FARMERS

The Kamwangi Factory (wet mill) has proven to be very consistent in quality over the years, and have great systems for traceability and quality control. They are Rainforest Alliance certified, and have established soaking pits for waste water treatment. Fermentation is done with Fresh River Water. The same water undergoes a recycling process, enabling them to significantly reduce water consumption. Kamwangi collects cherries from about 1000 smallholders located on the slopes of Mount Kenya. Together with the neighboring region Nyeri, the region is known for intense, complex, and flavor-dense coffees.
