The Ranger is currently a blend of Colombia Black Condor and Brazil Serra Negra.

The Black Condor Project (Colombia) was created by Forest Coffee and a coffee grower named Emmanuel. They’ve established a washing station to support farmers from Gaitania who have been affected by guerrilla war and ensure direct and fair payment, offering rates 18-20% above market rate. Driven by quality, BCP consistently hosts workshops with producers covering processes, fermentation, drying, and cupping their own coffees. They foster internal competition among producers to promote and give visibility to their coffees and improvements. Today, the Black Condor Project has over 100 independent coffee producers on board, creating real and tangible impact within communities and regional prosperity and economy.

Cafe Imports has been sourcing from Brazil for nearly 20 years. They work with two primary exporters in the Carmo de Minas Region (Brazil) for their Serra Negra, or “black mountain” profile. Brazil is known for efficient production and massive yields, but Cafe Imports was inspired by the quality and diversity from various regions to develop microlot programs with some of the country’s most innovative producers. Their relationships in Brazil include many producers who are focused on putting out smaller quantities of hyperfocused, high-scoring, consistently excellent coffees. Though often overlooked as a potential source for microlot coffees, Cafe Imports hopes to bring to the fore producers paving the way towards making complex cup profiles the norm for Brazilian coffees.
